Project Overview

Welcome to the official website of the Preliminary Design Study and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to widen Highway 7 from 200 m west of Reesor Road in the City of Markham to approximately 200 m west of Brock Road in the City of Pickering as shown in the key plan.  The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has retained HDR Inc. (HDR) to undertake this study.

The study will evaluate alternatives to widen Highway 7 to tie into the existing four-lane cross-sections both east and west of the study limits.  This study also includes the replacement of the Highway 7 / Little Rouge Creek bridge and will review the feasibility to grade separate Highway 7 at the existing CPKC rail crossing.

We will provide regular updates on this site with information, as well as project documentation, as it becomes available.

We welcome your feedback. If you have any comments or questions any time during this study, or wish to be added to our project mailing list, you can submit through the project website: Contact Us.
