PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT

MTO is committed to an extensive consultation and engagement program that actively engages and involves members of the public, non-government organizations (NGOs), municipalities, Indigenous communities, regulatory agencies, businesses and industry. As such, the Project Team welcomes comments regarding this Highway 7 project.

All comments received, with the exception of personal information, will become part of the public record.

Notifications

Notification of project milestones (Study Commencement, Public Information Centres, Transportation Environmental Study Report filing) will be announced through a notice advertised in the www.durhamregion.com and www.yorkregion.com and posted on this website. External agencies, Indigenous communities, emergency services and anyone on the study contact list will be notified through direct mail.

Public Information Centre #1

The Public Information Centre (PIC) #1 was held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 to provide an opportunity to review the study process, the study need and justification, screening of an initial long list of alternatives, the short list of alternatives, the proposed evaluation criteria to assess the short list of alternatives, and the next steps in the study.
